I just heard this sad story. A mom who has three kids, a pillar in the community, helping people get elected, married for 23 years had a secret. When she was 19 years old she was charged and plead guilty to drug trafficking charges and was given the maximum penalty back in 1975 which was 10 to 25 years in prison. She said she went down the wrong road when she was 19 because her boyfriend had just been killed in Vietnam. She served one year in prison then her father helped her escape. She changed her name and made a new life for herself. She felt so guilty for going astray that she got really involved in community service work. Really helping others. The FBI was looking for her and someone tipped them off and now she is being held in Jail. They want to make her serve the rest of her sentence and then some because she escaped. I think she should pay a fine or community service. I don’t think she should have to serve jail time. She changed her life around and she did not murder or steal she sold some drugs. I am not saying that is right but this was over 30 years ago she made her life count for something. I just think there should be some mercy and grace given here. This was a traumatic time for her losing her boyfriend in the war. I know those were some crazy times. Lord I hope she can have favor with the governor and judges.
