Why We should pray for those in authority
Here are two scriptures I read that struck home with me and why we should pray:
1 Tim 2:1-4 — “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”
If my people, on whom my name is named, make themselves low and come to me in prayer, searching for me and turning from their evil ways; then I will give ear from heaven, overlooking their sin, and will give life again to their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14
These scriptures reminded me that we do need to pray for our leaders.

Writing
Sorry I have not written much this week. I just posted a bunch of items. Anyway, we attended the funeral of dear friend who passed away Tuesday and my hubby and girls have been sick. Pooky had a sinus infection last week and peanut kept running a fever and I thought she had the same thing and I was shocked yesterday that she had strep. We literally have not been out of the house in a month or more. Also, she has been in a fairly good mood and she has been eating and her fever has been fairly low. Usually with strep you are running a high fever, feel really bad and cannot eat. Anyway, we are all on the mend so hopefully I can get back to writing about my lovely family and politcal stuff. You know I love it.

GOP House Votes NO To Stimulus
Congrats the GOP in the house finally got some back bone. Now I pray the GOP in the senate will follow.
The only reason that President Obama wants the GOP involved is because it will fail and they can take them down with them. It is always politcal. I am not being negative here. Have you seen the stimulus package?
There is hardly anything in it that would stimulate the economy. There is tons of pork though. So many billions going to Acorn. So many billions going to the CDC for STDs reasearch. The list goes on and on. How does that stimulate the economy? Only a small portion of the $819 billion is even going to infastructure. I thought the whole purpose of this package was to bring and create jobs. I don’t see that happening. It is a social agenda.
There is also some nationalized healthcare added to this package covered up in fancy terms. It expands medicaid but does not allow states to check income. It also says for anyone unemployed up through 2011 can get medicaid. We do not need more gov’t programs. We need massive tax cuts to businesses who are thriving so they can hire more people and start putting people back to work. We also need massive tax cuts for those of us still in a job so we can keep more of our money. My hubby still has a job but we are holding on to every penny we can.
I think the American people are catching on though, popularity for this package has gone down as more and more comes out about it. Read here for more info, article posted on hotair.com

Mom of octuplets
I love children and I am prolife but this story of the mom who has octuplets and already has 6 other children is crazy. If she had a husband and lived on their own I might feel differently, but she is living off of her parents and probably the gov’t. She does not work. Her parents lost their own house supporting her and now her father is going back to Iraq to continue sending money in. Come on girlfriend lets be responsible! Here is a complete story written by momlogic and posted on hotair , read here.

Patterson Picks Gillibrand
Since Caroline Kennedy dropped out of the senate race, Patterson continued with a woman to replace Clinton. Gillibrand sounds similar to Sarah Palin except she is a democrat, but it sounds like she is more conservative though and this has some dems up in arms. Here is the article on it.

Obama signs order allowing federal funds for abortions overseas
I was praying this would not go through but my prayers were not answered. Obama is ready to sign this today. Here is the article on this topic. God have mercy on this country. I also don’t think it is right that our tax dollars are being used to fund abortions. I am pro-life and we should have a say in where our tax dollars go.

Roe vs Wade Anniversary
On the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, a congressman has issued a bill to stop funding of planned parenthood. Here is the article from hotair.com
I say Amen! Obama has not signed off on repealing the federal funds overseas so my prayers were answered so far. I figured that would be the first thing he did but it was closing Gitmo.

Remnant III: Keeping a Pure Heart
The Remnant III: Keeping a Pure Heart
I love talking about having a pure heart. The heart is such a fascinating subject. In the Bible, the heart is described as our inward man – the inside part of us that is the real us – our spirit. It is the hidden part of us where our deepest beliefs reside. It is through our heart that we connect with God, which in turn leads to answered prayers. The prevailing tone of the words we speak flows directly from our hearts. Moreover, the way we believe in our hearts is so important that our salvation depends on it. Finally, God favors those whose hearts are knit with His. Clearly, the state of our heart is very important.
Of all the people in the Bible, David was the only one about whom God said he was a man after God’s own heart. What a statement – especially in the light of David’s many failures! That gives me hope. If David can be a man after God’s own heart, then so can I; so can all of us. And, that’s what I want, don’t you? So what was it about David that made him a man after God’s heart? What are the characteristics of a “heart after God”? Well, in short, a heart after God’s own heart is submitted, repentant and humble. These three characteristics work together to produce a pure heart. And that is what David had that attracted God’s attention and favor.
Too many of us have gotten to the place where our hearts are cold, hardened, impure and unsurrendered to God. We have the choice to either continue along this path and face the consequences of not being a part of The Remnant. Or, we can surrender our will, seek to have a heart after God’s own heart and experience the favor and blessing that God pours out on The Remnant.
As we go forward into this year, I encourage you to find those places in your heart that are not repentant, submitted or humble before God. Then repent, asking God to help you to have a heart after His own heart – a pure heart. He will delight to honor your request and welcome you in as a part of The Remnant!
(If you want to know more about how to have a pure heart and what that means, I encourage you to listen to or watch this message.)

When Daddy Makes Oatmeal
I was at the store or somewhere and Husband made Peanut b’fast. Fortunately she does not mind it being soupy.
