I thought this was right on. Our radio commentator read this and I had to find a hard copy of it. It has been out for a little while but snopes says it’s real.
I think this man captures everything we want to say but do not know how to put into words. Thank you Harry Estes for your service and your letter!
What are they going to do next in the children’s line of clothes? The Gap has decided to make skinny jeans starting in size 0-3 mos for babies going up to the toddlers sizes. I have never heard anything crazier then this. It is hard enough trying to put pants on babies because of the bulky diapers and layers of baby fat. This is absolutely crazy!
I will not buy skinny jeans for my 8 year old and I have noticed that trend moving towards my 3 year old sizes. My 8 year old is tall and thin but skinny jeans are too revealing. I want my girls in conservative and stylish clothing.
Parents are flocking to this style because it is the trend. The stores are eating this up.
I do not shop at the Gap because it is not economical for our family. I shop around at different stores trying to get the best deals but taking an adult fashion trend and making it for babies and toddlers is absurd. If you look at this baby in the skinny jeans, they don’t fit you see way too much of her diaper. Paying that kind of money so my child can be trendy with her diaper hanging out. I don’t know about you but I want my jeans to fit and be comfortable.
I have two kids to buy clothes for so I have to keep things affordable as well as stylish. I do put my kids needs above mine but part of that is I am not still growing. I can wear the same outfit for several years or the same shoes but they cannot.
What will they think of next?
I am sitting in my car waiting to go through the afternoon carpool pick up. The line is more than a mile long and we are just starting to move. I hear my three year old say, “Mommy I have to go potty!” Oh no the dreaded words no parent wants to hear especially when you are stuck in a line or something you cannot get out of. All I could do was distract and pray. We picked up my daughter and made it home just in time.
I have always liked Sarah Palin. Two things that disturbed me though. She says she is pro life but while she was Governor she appointed a judge who was known to be pro choice. The second is her endorsement of Karen Handel for Georgia’s Governors race. Not only did Karen Handel give 1.2 million dollars over three years to Planned Parenthood but she was also a member of the Log Cabin Republicans (it is a group organized by the gay members of the GOP). This is a post from the Atlanta Journal Constitution discussing her membership. Georgia Voice has an a post out in which records show Karen Handel was a member of this group and she continued to work closely with Yeagar even in recent years, who was a leader in LCG. Here is another blog post on her endorsement of the gay agenda.
She is a liberal in conservative clothing. It is appalling. Karen Handel was the only candidate in the Repulican slew that was not endorsed by the Georgia Right To Life. How can Sarah Palin knowingly support someone who claims one thing but cannot get a prolife endorsement. I could not stand her before I heard this but the fact that Sarah Palin criticizes Obama on abortion issues and on the homosexual agenda is just hypocritical. How can you consciously endorse someone who is the very opposite of what you portray?
Karen Hadel also accused her opponets of ethics violations when she herself has been accused and is being investigated for her own ethics violations. I am so sick of politicians. I want fresh, real people in here who truly care about the issues and not just fame and power.
If she wins the nomination, I may for the first time in my life vote democrat. She is not qualified, she lies, she has not finished one job that she has started and she is the exact opposite of what she portrays.
I have lost all respect for Sarah Palin. She has been such a disappointment and I really thought she was different.
Folks you need to do your research. Do not vote for someone based on celebrity endorsement, vote based on your convictions. Knowing your vote is going to change our world!
I was actually a little shocked by her comments; however, I should not be surprised. She was saying fathers are not needed in raising a child.
I guess that is true when you have tons of money and nannies that can do everything for you.
Realistically, I would be insane without my husband. My girls adore him and my girls have a healthy self esteem because we are BOTH in their lives. I have a friend who is a single mom and her kids light up like light bulbs when their dad comes on the weekends. They are in tears when he has to go back home. I see how hard she has it and how much her kids do benefit from that relationship. I am the person I am today because my dad was such a vital part of my life. I was totally devastated when he passed away.
I think people in Hollywood need to get their heads out of the clouds and get a good dose of reality before they shoot their mouths off with their unrealistic view of life. You don’t have to have a man to have a child but you may want to step into a real single moms shoes before you make comments such as these.
I saw this report on ABC World News last night. I was one of those girls that started getting breasts at 8 and started my period at 9. I never wanted that to happen to my daughters. I understand what they are saying about obesity triggering estrogen and this makes sense. I also understand they are looking at environmental factors as well but what about all the hormones that are in our chicken, eggs, milk, cheese, yogurt and beef? They did not even mention this on the news last night. Is it because we are in bed so to speak with the dairy and beef industry this is a taboo subject. I purposefully by eggs, and chicken with no hormones or antibiotics. We do not eat too much beef and my girls cannot have dairy. Other than the body odor that started at age 6, my oldest has absolutely no signs of puberty and she is 8 and I am so forever thankful. I am glad they did this study but they need to address food and hormones as well as the other things they have suggested.
My friend who is vaccine savvy had this article on her page. This is actually quite scary. Since there is not a recall on this vaccine from this company, it could end up in your doctors office.
I had also heard that the flu shot would be mixed with the swine flu this flu season so I will have to double check on that one. The more and more I read about this stuff the more it unnerves me.
