Some 20 year olds worth knowing!

23 Jul
A friend posted this on her FB page but she got it from a former Marine and from there we do not know who the author of this awesome post is but it is so true. More people care about People Magazine or Entertainment Tonight then they do our country. They know more who the Bachelor or Bacherette of the season is but cannot tell you one person running for congress or even who the Vice President is. Every time I turn the TV on they are talking about Mel Gibson and Lindsy Lohan. Both deserve to go to jail. They screwed up. Do I really have to hear about them every single night when our brave men and women are putting their lives on the line so we can have freedom and protection. Come on America this has got to stop.
“can’t believe the news coverage given to a spoiled 20-year old. Here are a few 20 year-olds worth knowing: Justin Allen 23, Brett Linley 29, Matthew Weikert 29, Justus Bartett 27, Dave Santos 21, Chase Stanley 21,Jesse Reed 26, Matthew Johnson 21, Zachary Fisher 24, Brandon King 23, ..Christopher Goeke 23, & Sheldon Tate 27. These 20-somethings gave
their lives for you this week.”

These are my heroes and these are people worth knowing! Thank you to all of you who serve and have served. Thank you to our military families as well. You also sacrifice so much for our country!

Three new Shows I love!

12 Mar

I am now a fan of the marriage ref, Parenthood and Who do you think you are? The marriage ref is hilariously funny. I thought it was going to be stupid when I saw previews but then I saw the host and Jerry Seinfeld on Oprah and I just had to watch. I never laughed so hard in my life. These people are crazy but I love the humor. I also like the fact that they will only put people who love each other with petty issues and not serious ones that require counseling or something.

Parenthood is very relevant to today. The child with autism, the single mom with kids trying to fit in, the good kid that is not so good and the working mom. The entire family is dysfunctional and I love it. I love the entire cast. Some of the people I know from other shows and some are fresh faces but the dynamics and chemistry is unlike any show I have seen recently. NBC needed this comeback and I hope it will be on for a while. They have a great spot too following the biggest loser which is still a huge hit.

The final show I love is Who do you think you are? It is produced by Lisa Kudro of Friends.  It is about celebs finding out where they came from and who their ancestors were. I have always been fascinated by this since I was a teen and this is one reality show that I love. It premiers tonight on NBC at 8. My Tivo is set!

I am really shocked by NBC has some really awesome shows right now. I love it!

Miss California

21 Apr

I know this is a hot topic making headlines everywhere but I had to give my opinion on this one. I applaud Miss California for sticking to her guns and giving an honest answer. I think she could have said it a little better but the fact she stayed true to who she is, is note worthy. I think judges who have an agenda should leave it at the door. It is one thing to mark her down for her answer but to call her a derogatory name and bash her the way Perez did on his blog is absurd.

I am so sick of you must be politically correct and not true to who you are.  As you will see in this link, our own President said he believed marriage is between a man and a woman.

Miss California said to Matt Lauer, ” I wasn’t politically correct, I was Biblically correct.”  She went on to say this was a test for her. No matter what the cost she was standing up for her principles and beliefs. It cost her the Miss USA crown but God has something so much bigger then this.

I believe she is a role model whether you agree with gay marriage or not. I say this because I want my children to stand up for their beliefs no matter what situation you are in. What is the point of believing in something if you are going to lie when you are questioned about it.

I don’t want a Miss USA who is a political robot. We have enough of those in Washington. I want Miss USA to believe in what she is saying. I think it is disingenuous to think otherwise!
