“Why don’t friends with kids never have any time?”

13 Jul

This is the best article on motherhood and why friends with kids never have any time. Carol nailed it! This is my life. An errand that may take someone who does not have children 10-15 minutes, takes me 30 -45 depending on if I have one child with me or two. I can do twice as much when my kids are not with me. I get so much more done because I am not having to break up fights, clean up messes, grab 100 snacks and take the kids where they need to go. If I do get to sit down it is usually late at night after everyone has gone to bed. My job as a mom is 24/7. I don’t regret it or hate it. It is a fact and sometimes it is like a roller coaster. You have your ups and your downs. Before you judge people you really should put yourself in their shoes for 1 minute, 1 hour or 1 day. When we say we don’t have time, it is not a lie. We are telling the truth. This is why I got an iphone for Christmas so I can keep up with friends via my phone. I rarely have time to sit down at the computer but I can stay in contact with emails, FB etc via my phone. It really is my lifeline to the world.

Love

11 Jun

I saw George Foreman on the Today show. He wrote a new book about family and his life. He said something so neat that I had to blog about it. Love is spelled TIME with your wife and your children. I like that. You can have all the money or fame in this world but if you don’t have time or love you have nothing. You can get money and fame back in your life at various times but you can never get TIME back. I have heard it over and over again. I don’t remember what specific things my parents bought me but I do remember my spending time with my dad or my mom. I pray my girls will remember this time with me and with their dad when they get older. I pray they will look back on their childhood with fond memories. We don’t have a lot of “stuff” but we do play Uno 20 times a day with Pookie or build something with Peanut and I love that. I love our time together and I love that I get to watch my girls grow and learn everyday.

He also talked about God and his faith throughout the book. Without God, I don’t know where I would be. He has has gotten me through so many things in my life. I love having that personal relationship with him not just a God who is in a book but a  real and loving God who gave his son so I may have eternal life with him one day. Who loves us so much he knew us before we were ever born. He has a plan and a destiny for each and every person that is on this earth. It is up to them to come into that knowledge of him, once they have heard about it and the plan he has for them. I love that my Pookie loves God and talks to him on a regular basis. I don’t know how people who don’t believe in anything live in this life. I have to have God and my faith. It gets me through those “rough nights” or the loss of someone I love.  How awesome is that! He knows your name and all that is in store for you. Since my own father is no longer here, Happy Father’s Day Lord! I pray that I will use my time wisely. I pray I can spend those wonderful moments with my husband, daughters and other close family. You can never get time back. Enjoy your loved ones, today and everyday!
